ARRA Funds for Window Film Research: High Performance Films

Solutia Awarded by ARRA Funds for Window Film Research
In July 2010 performance film segment of  Solutia awarded a $356,000 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) grant. I read in Facility Blog that, "The awarded funds have been earmarked for the continued research, development and commercialization of high performance, energy efficient, retrofit window film technology for commercial and residential buildings."

These films are designed especially to improve energy efficiency which has new film coating and techniques. A building’s energy efficiency starts at its windows and high performance films has low infrared transmission coatings.
