Incentive Program for Commercial Buildings Creates Financial Opportunity for a Greener Houston.

                                                                        

The city of Houston is partner of Clinton Climate Initiative (CCI) and Geo technology Research Institute/ Houston Advanced Research Center (GTRI/HARC) has launched first energy efficiency incentive program for commercial buildings.

To significantly reduce Houston's emissions of greenhouse gases  and air pollutants, Houston city is coming with some realistic programs specially in building and transportation section.  The city of Houston will commit approximate $3 million to Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) as a initial funding for this program.

Eligible businesses and building owners may apply for funding to make permanent energy efficiency improvements. SOLAR HEAT GAIN CO-EFFICIENT IS IMPORTANT WHILE SELECTING A WINDOW TINT! 

I was quite busy in last few days. I was researching some new technologies in tinting world. I like the article "Statements of Infrared Rejection may Confuse Customers published by AIMCAL-Window Film Committee." This is the article at International Window Film Association.

Some countries several manufacturers list fake reports of Infrared Rejection percentage to promote their products. But in U.S. market, where the Solar Heat Gain Co-efficient (SHGC) is exists. The use of IR rejection values are not necessary. The effect of Infrared Rejection depends on which wavelengths are rejected and there is no standard set determining which wavelengths are meant by an IR rejection percentage. Accordingly IR rejection percentage does not offer a complete picture of Solar Heat Control.

Below is the diagram of Solar Energy Distribution. SHGC predicts the heat gain of the total contribution of all three spectral regions of Solar Light. UV, Visible Light and Near Infrared Radiation. Thus SHGC provides only valid evaluation of total solar heat gain of a fenestration product.

How to tint a window?

If you want to tint only one car then you can take simple tools and follow simple procedure.

Buy following window tint tools from any of the tint suppliers specified in a right corner:

1.       Window tint film

2.       A  spray bottle with soapy solution

3.       A squeeze

4.       An Olfa knife

Are you ready? Now you can start tinting procedure.

• First cut the window tint shape as you want.
• Wash the window with soap and water mixture.
• Clean the residue from your window using razor.
• Use squeeze to remove all residue from top to bottom.
• Apply a tint to side window.
• Use a hard card to make sure that tint is proper at all the corners.
• Remove the moisture between glass and window tint. Use a heater gun and squeeze in a horizontal movement.
• Trim the window tint film which is not required.

And you are done.
